Pune: NICMAR University, a construction management education institute, held its 2nd Convocation Ceremony at its Pune campus, celebrating academic excellence and achievement.
Ajit Gulabchand, Chairman of HCC Limited and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NICMAR, addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest, highlighting the pivotal role of quality education in driving India’s progress and realizing the Make in India vision.

Speaking at the event, Gulabchand stated, “Quality education is crucial for a progressive India and the success of Make in India. Students must focus on research, innovation, and technology adoption to fulfill the nation’s developmental vision. Sustainable growth and self-reliance by 2047 can only be achieved through honesty, dedication, and continuous learning.”

NICMAR University Awards Degrees to 1,128 Students
The convocation saw 1,128 students from various disciplines being awarded degrees, while 10 students received gold medals for their outstanding academic performance across MBA, Master of Planning, and BBA programs.
Gold medals were presented to students from programs such as MBA in Advanced Construction Management, MBA in Advanced Project Management, MBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management, MBA in Environmental Sustainability, MBA in Sustainable Energy Management, and MBA in Family Business and Entrepreneurship, among others.
NICMAR University President Prof Dr Vijay Gupchup, Vice-Chancellor Dr Sushma S Kulkarni, and Director General Dr Tapash Kumar Ganguli were among the dignitaries present. Prof. Gupchup encouraged graduates to maintain professional integrity and adopt effective time and resource management in their careers.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sushma Kulkarni underlined the importance of personal and professional transformation, stating, “Students must move through the stages of comfort, fear, learning, growth, and transformation to build a successful career. At NICMAR, we have designed globally benchmarked programs to prepare students for leadership in the construction sector.”
The event commenced with an introduction by Dr Prashant Dave, Registrar, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Adinath Damle. The ceremony was compered by Dr Jyotish Singh and Prof Shrilakshmi Srikumar.
